MIAMI Association of Realtors Presents 18th Annual Miami International Real Estate Congress – November 4-7, Attracts Worldwide Delegates

The MIAMI Association of Realtors presents the 18th Annual Miami International Real Estate Congress (2012MiamiCongress.com) at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables on November 4-7. Capitalizing on Miami’s prime global position, the Miami Congress will draw in excess of 300 U.S. and foreign real estate professionals for three powerful days of programming, networking, property tours, and receptions.

Worldwide Foreign Delegates Confirmed
The scheduling of NAR’s Conference in Orlando immediately following the Congress has resulted in increased numbers of delegates from MIAMI’s more than 100 foreign partner associations:

“We expect the 18th Miami International Real Estate Congress to be an overwhelming success,” said Teresa King Kinney, chief executive officer of MIAMI. “The Congress will bring together a record number of international real estate professionals who will further promote our market to foreign buyers and investors, strengthening Miami’s position as a global hotspot and boosting our local economy and real estate market.”

World-renowned Speakers
Top presenters and industry leaders will offer participants the latest information on international real estate trends, opportunities, and resources. National association of Realtors (NAR) Chief Economist Lawrence Yun will present “Economic Update & International Markets to Target for Investment.” Condo Vultures Realty & Consulting Founder Peter Zalewski, who is also on MIAMI’s Corporate Board of Directors, will discuss “International Buyers/Investors and the Miami Condo Market.”

2011-2012 FIABCI World President Alex Romanenko will present information on the world real estate market. Attorney Roger A. Bernstein will offer and overview of visas for investors and the EB-5 visa in particular, which is of great interest to agents working with foreign buyers and investors.

Jaqueline Tepltizky, associate broker with Douglas Elliman Florida and managing director at Prudential Douglas Elliman New York, will offer insight into working with high profile and celebrity clients. Deborah Boza-Valledor, MIAMI COO and real estate instructor, will show participants how to expand their international business.

NAR President Maurice “Moe” Veissi will offer a special welcome for the foreign delegates and U.S. professionals.

New Release . . . 2012 Miami International Market Report Miami will release preliminary findings of the highly-anticipated 2012 Miami International Market Report at the Congress, offering participants and the media the latest update on international buying activity in Miami. MIAMI CEO Teresa King Kinney will compare international buying activity to previous years and to national and state results. The report reveals market share of foreign buyers and characteristics of foreign purchases.

Developer Receptions
Congress participants are invited to attend receptions at developer locations during the event. Residences at Vizcaya (http://www.residencesatvizcaya.com/) and Grove at Grand Bay (http://groveatgrandbay.com/) will both host evening receptions exclusively for Congress attendees.

“Doing Business with Foreign Investors” – November 2
Immediately prior to the Congress, MIAMI will host a special international program. “Doing Business with Foreign Investors” will feature attorneys and other industry-related professionals who will offer foreign delegates and U.S. professionals an overview of factors to consider when investing in the U.S. and in Florida, including: taxes, FIRPTA, due diligence, property management, brokerage, referrals, logistics of coming to Miami to find real estate, lending for international buyers/investors, money exchange for real Estate transactions, and question/answer and business development sessions.

Attorneys representing Bilzin, Sumberg, Baena, Price & Axelrod LLP
(http://www.bilzin.com/), will address lending requirements, single-purpose entities to provide additional developer protection, scope of guarantor liability, maximizing Florida exemptions, and U.S. regulatory disclosure requirements against cultural expectations of investor privacy.

Michael S. Tobin of Rothman & Tobin, P.A (http://www.rothmanandtobin.com) will address the impact of distressed properties on foreign investors, while Frederick Woodbridge, Jr. of Frederick Woodbridge, Jr., P.A. will address financing a real estate acquisitions in the U.S.
